I have been doing PM jobs in IT industry for 15 years and have played all three roles, project manager, program manager, and portfolio manager during the time being. My current VP, in US, is a strong evangelizer of PMP given he had a military background and had learned much of project management via PMP training boot camp in US. He has much expectation for me to get PMP certified to not only elevate my capability, but enhance the career path on project management. That's why I registered this boot camp with 長宏(PM-ABC), the number 1 recommended PMP training facility based on my research.
At day one, Roger kept calling out the ones with extensive project management job could be the most vulnerable since the ways we have been practicing for years could become our handicap. That did worry me a bit. Fortunately, my PM experience actually helped me to quickly get familiar with PMP logic and process. I believe this should be credited to the companies I worked for are all with international scales and with strong process and database endorsed.
Having said that, it's still a long and exhausting road to get PMP. Many thanks to the "team-up" and "dedicate-coach" approaches from 長宏 that help me to complete the road with sound friends and mentor and to win the glory in the end. Cheers!
